It looks like Geohot, the iPhone hacking expert who had released popular tools to jailbreak and unlock iPhone like blackra1n, blacksn0w is back.

Geohot had abandoned the jailbreaking scene in July but he seems to be back with a bang. He has discovered a new new bootrom exploit, which he is calling limera1n.

He has published a photo on the limera1n site of 4 devices displaying the limera1n logo.

Joshua Hill, also known as p0sixninja from the Chronic-Dev Team has just tweeted that greenpois0n, the jailbreaking tool that makes use of the SHAtter exploit will be released on October 10.

Apple has released the firmware (Build 8M89) for the second generation Apple TV that it has started shipping.

Based on the name of the firmware file (AppleTV2,1_4.1_8M89_Restore.ipsw), it appears to be a version of iOS 4.1 that Apple had released few weeks back for iPhone and iPod Touch.

iPhone Dev Team have announced that they have managed to successfully jailbreak iOS 4.1 on the new iPod Touch 4G using the SHAtter exploit.
