Unc0ver Jailbreak iOS 13.3 – iOS 11: How To, Download, and News

Unc0ver iOS 13 - iOS 13.3 Jailbreak

Unc0ver jailbreak might not be the first public iOS 13 jailbreak, but it is the only one that supports jailbreaking iPhone X, iPhone XS, and iPhone 11 running iOS 13 – iOS 13.3. It does not support jailbreaking older iPhones running iOS 13. Below is everything you need to know about Unc0ver jailbreak.

The jailbreak has been developed by the @pwn20wnd team. Unc0ver is a semi-tethered jailbreak, which is similar to an untethered jailbreak, it gives the ability to reboot your iOS device on its own. On each boot, the iOS device startup sequence is unmodified and it boots into its original, non-jailbroken state. However, instead of needing to use a tool from a computer to re-jailbreak the iOS device again, like a tethered or semi-tethered cases, the user can re-jailbreak their device with the help of an app running on the iOS device such as the Electra app in case of Electra jailbreak.

iOS 12 Exploits and Unc0ver Jailbreak

In the months following iOS 12 release, we saw many Chinese developers show off iOS 12 exploits that could be used for a jailbreak. However, none of them released the exploit to the public. Then in January this year, we saw a number of iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 exploits being posted by Project Zero team members including Ian Bar and other Chinese security researchers.

The @pwn20wnd team took one such exploit and worked on it to create the first public iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 jailbreak. Saurik also worked behind the scenes to add Cydia support for iOS 12 and Unc0ver jailbreak.

The first stable release of Unc0ver jailbreak for iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 was released after almost two months of exhaustive beta testing from the @pwn20wnd team.
