Stan Sigman’s iPhone giveaway video has it been tampered?

I am not an expert on figuring out if the video has been tampered with or not, but my bet is that the YouTube video has been tampered, as it just doesn’t make sense. Why would AT&T give away an iPhone, the most awaited gadget after a long long time before the release date and not make a big deal of it, beats me. Vote (details on the next page) and let the world know what you think.

Stan Sigman, CEO of AT&T Wireless (Cingular) the commencement speaker at West Texas A&M University gifted the University president Dr. J. Patrick O’Brien with “what appears to be the first pre-release iPhone

Based on the YouTube video and what is legible, the following is the text:

"This next ?announcement? may interest you more than anything…(unintelligible)…The first ?regulation? iPhone in the state of Texas is in the hands of Dr. O’Brien of West Texas A&M University. (applause) So, if you don’t remember a word I’ve said and someone asks you about your graduation, you can say…(unintelligible)"

What beats me is why would AT&T give away an Apple iPhone, probably the most awaited gadget in ages, before the release date, and that too to someone of not any considerable significance to the world, wouldn’t you maybe give it to celebrity say Paris Hilton and make a splash, and assuming that they even did that, not make a public relation event out of it makes the video very suspicious.

I am not an expert on figuring out if the video has been tampered with or not, but my bet is that the iPhone video has been tampered, if indeed the word used in the announcement was iPhone, as it just doesn’t make sense. My bet is that the video has been tampered

Watch the iPhone video for yourself and and let me know what you think.
