If you thought the iPhone with its default white or black plastic casing was the coolest handset you have ever seen, well think again.
Here is a really cool custom built iPhone casing that replaces the standard one with a replica made with titanium alloy. And guess what? It actually works!
iPhone user Martin Schrotz from Austria says he was not too happy with the default plastic casing on the iPhone. So using his favorite CAD program to digitally measure the specifications, Martin says he was able to fabricate an iPhone casing made of titanium alloy with a milling machine. The final product looks like this:
Interestingly, Martin says the absence of a plastic casing has not caused any problems in terms of signal reception. The titanium alloy works as good as plastic in allowing the RF waves to pass through the casing and thus does not hinder wireless communications. As you can check out from the video below, the signal reception is pretty good.
