Folks at MacRumors are pointing out to few images sourced from a Chinese website, Taobao that indicate that the next generation iPhone may come with a a black or new white colored front panel.
At present, iPhone units are available with a standard black colored front panel while the back casing has been offered in both black and white colors.
As you can see from the images posted below, the casing in the picture resembles the form factor of the iPhone 4G prototype that was leaked last month by Gizmodo and has also been subsequently showcased on a few Vietnamese websites. A closer look at the picture reveals a tiny slit above the earpiece slot. This is speculated to be a reflective surface that shall contain the ambient light sensor. Interestingly, this is in tune with the revelations made by iPhone repair site iResQ in February this year. You may recall the pictures published by the company that showed a reflective surface on the front panel of what was claimed to be an iPhone 4G casing.
The availability of a white colored front panel and a reflective strip above the earpiece slot are the latest additions to the list of iPhone 4G features that have been revealed through a series of leaks in the past one month. In April this year, Gizmodo published pictures and video of what next generation iPhone. This was soon followed by more pictures and video from Vietnamese websites, Taoviet and MainGuyen. The latest revelation from TaoBao conforms to the hardware features revealed by earlier sources.
If the purported images turn out to be authentic then would you be interested in buying a completely white iPhone? Let us know in the comments below.
