Apple Unveils New Macbook Air Models Inspired By iPad

Steve Jobs unveiled two new Macbook Air models at today’s Back to Mac event.

Steve Jobs said that the new Macbook Air was the result if a MacBook and an iPad hooked up.

Some of the features of the new Macbook Air are inspired by the iPad such as instant on, great battery life, amazing standby time, Flash Storage, etc.

Here are some of the features of the stunning new Macbook Air:

  • 13.3-inch and 11.6-inch models
  • Core 2 Duo processor with NVIDIA GeForce 320M
  • 2GB RAM (upgradeable to 4GB)
  • 13.3" LED-backlit display at 1440×900, 11.6” LED display at 1366×768 display
  • Comes with Solid State Storage, which brings with it the following benefits – Instant-on, up to 2x faster, more reliable, and 90% smaller and lighter, silent operation
  • FaceTime Camera
  • Rigid and durable with complete aluminum unibody construction
  • Battery life: 7 hours (13.3-inch model) and 5 hours (11.6-inch model), 30 days of standby time
  • 802.11n Wi-Fi
  • Full size keyboard and full size glass trackpad
  • 0.68" at thickest point, 0.11" at thinnest
  • 13.3-inch model weighs 2.9 lbs, 13.3-inch model weighs 2.3 lbs
  • No optical or hard drives

The 11.6-inch/64GB model is priced at $999 and the 11.6-inch/128GB model is priced at $1199. The 13-inch/128 GB is priced at $1299 and the 13-inch/256GB model is priced at $1599.
