Music Center: Custom Widget Will Bring Music Info, iPod Controls To iOS 5 Notification Center

iOS 5

We continue to see the jailbreak community revealing plans to release jailbreak tweaks that will give users easy access to information and settings toggles via iOS 5 Notification Center with a single swipe.

We’ve already seen custom widgets such as UISettings that give easy access to Settings Toggles and SpringPrefs that brings system stats to iOS 5 Notification Center.

Aaron Wright – iOS  app developer  has revealed that he is working on a new custom widget called Music Center.

Music Center as the name suggest will display the details of the song that is currently playing.

The developer plans to also add features such as ‘Tap to tweet’, music controls and other track information like rating and duration to the custom widget.

It will be a lot quicker to control music playing on your iOS device using Music Center custom widget than using the task switcher. We also liked the implementation of Pages within the custom widgets (dots at the lower right corner of the widget) to give users access to additional information and controls.

The developer hasn’t provided any release date, but the jailbreak tweak will be available free when it is released.

Let us know what you think about the Music Center custom widget in the comments.
