With few days to go for Apple’s big media event where it is expected to launch the hugely anticipated next generation iPhone, new iPhone models have already started showing up in Apple’s inventory system.
Yesterday, revised models of the iPhone 4 and the iPod Touch appeared in Apple’s inventory system and now 9 to 5 Mac reports that according to their source, a new iPhone model codenamed N94 has showed up in Apple’s inventory system.
9 to 5 Mac reports:
Today, though, comes the big news: the next-generation iPhone has made its way into Apple’s inventory system. This new iPhone is the N94 device that we found in the iOS SDK many months ago. This device is confirmed to pack Apple’s dual-core A5 processor, and is likely the device we described with an 8MP camera, 1GB of RAM, Nuance Dictation speech-to-text, and the groundbreaking Assistant feature.
9 to 5 Mac also reports that the model number is similar to the one from a purported ‘iPhone 4S’ packaging label, which surfaced on a Chinese forum yesterday. The model number from the label is MD239 for the 16GB iPhone 4S and MD234 for the 32GB iPhone 4S.
As you can see above, there is a reference of both IMEI and MEID on the label, which means that if the label is indeed the real deal then iPhone 4S will be a world phone, which supports both GSM and CDMA networks.
9 to 5 Mac’s source has also provided the following information about the next generation iPod touch:
We are also hearing that all three iPod touch capacities will be seeing price drops in certain international countries. The price drops for the 32GB and 64GB models will be minimal – perhaps due to currency fluctuations – but the 8GB pricing will change substantially. Translated, the 8GB iPod touch may even reach the $199 price point or below again in the United States, but that is unconfirmed.
There continues to be no evidence of a redesigned iPhone 5, so either Apple has figured out a way to keep it a secret or it indicates that Apple will only launch iPhone 4S that looks like iPhone 5 and comes with a faster dual-core A5 chip, 1 GB RAM, improved 8-megapixel camera, support HSPA+ 4G speeds and Apple’s revolutionary new Assistant feature.
