MyGreatFest – World’s First Jailbreak Convention Takes Place Tomorrow

In case you haven’t heard already, MyGreatFest – world’s first convention for the jailbreak community takes place in London tomorrow, September 17th.

Members of the jailbreak community such as Saurik – founder of Cydia – the installer for jailbreak apps, p0sixninja and iOPK – members of the Chronic Dev team who had developed greenpois0n – a popular jailbreak tool will be speaking at the event.

The mission statement on MyGreatFest’s website reads:

Our mission is to become the largest jailbreak/(i)community convention for coders, themers, hackers, developers or any other mobile device user. To leave others with the better understanding of what jailbreaking actually means to us, and that it does not stand for
piracy. We aim to build upon a community that we believe to be the best there is. So please, tell the world our mission. MyGreatFest, for the community, by the community.

If you’re in London and enjoy jailbreaking your iOS device to install the jailbreak apps and tweaks, then you should still be able to attend the event to meet some of the folks that have made it possible as tickets are still available. The venue of the event is The Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London.

Craig Fox – organizer of the MyGreatFest event hopes to also host the show in the US in spring 2012, most likely in San Francisco Bay area. He also plans to bring the show to both coasts by 2013.

Chronic Dev team had recently revealed that they are actively working on it. So it will be interesting to see if the hackers provide any update on the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.
