Ever since iOS 5 has been released, a number of readers have complained about poor battery life, especially those who bought Apple’s new iPhone 4S.
Apple has finally issued a statement to Jim Dalrymple of The Loop that they will release a new iOS software update to fix few bugs that are affecting battery life.
“A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices. We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.”
Apple has already seeded iOS 5.0.1 to developers of iOS Developer program, which includes the fix for battery life issue, so we are expecting Apple to release it quite soon, may be as early as this weekend.
But until then you can disable “Setting Time Zone” as it seems to reduce the consumption of battery life. You can checkout this post for more details.
It will be interesting to see how the new iOS 5.0.1 software update will affect jailbreaking.
