Apple May Unveil 13-Inch Retina MacBook Pro And New Mac Mini At iPad Mini Event

Apple is widely expected to unveil the smaller and cheaper iPad, unofficially dubbed iPad mini at a media event next week, on October 23.

Over the last few days there have been a flood of rumors, which suggest that iPad mini might not be the only device Apple is planning to unveil at the event.

So what else can we expect at the iPad mini event:

  • Multiple reports claim that Apple will unveil the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro. Apple had unveiled the 15-inch MacBook Pros with Retina Display at the WWDC 2012. Rumors claim that 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro may include an “unprecedented” battery design and offer the same set of ports seen on the 15-inch model such as the MagSafe 2, a pair of Thunderbolt ports, a USB port, and a headphone jack on the left and a USB port, an HDMI port, and an SD card reader on the right.
  • Apple may also unveil a new version of Mac mini, most likely with faster processors as the current Mac Mini are on the last-generation chipsets. The report claims that Mac minis will come in two standard configurations, with different storage and processor options, and a third model that runs OS X Server.

  • Apple may also unveil a redesigned iMac with a thinner form factor and powered by Intel’s latest generation Ivy Bridge processors.

As reported earlier, it is also speculated that Apple will unveil a revised version of the full-sized iPad, with the lightning dock connector, updated heat dissipation mechanism and support for 4G LTE networks in other international markets.

The timing of the announcements is also quite interesting, as it would be just few days before Microsoft launches Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.

We can’t wait to find out what Apple has in store for us.
