Google Chrome Update Makes It Easier To Search And Share Content [Updatedx4]

Google has just pushed out an update for its Chrome app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

The new version comes with features that make it easier to search and share content using Google Chrome.

After installing the update, as you can see in the screenshot below, you will see the search term in the omnibox (highlighted with the red outline) instead of the long search URL. Google has also got rid of the search box on the web page, which became redundant with this change, thus freeing up space to display more content, which is a welcome change on the iPhone and iPod touch.

The update also brings a quick way to access the history tab. Simply press and hold the back button to access any page you had previously visited from that tab.

You can now share a webpage via email or on social network sites by taping on the Menu button in the top right corner and then tapping on the Share option.

The update also includes plenty of under-the-hood stability, security improvements and bug fixes.

You can download the update via the Updates tab in the App Store app or by clicking on the download link below.

Update 1:

As reader tskwierc has pointed out, this update breaks the Chrome Download Manager jailbreak app, so if you’ve it installed then you may want to hold off installing the Chrome update until the tweak is compatible with it. Thanks tskwierc!

Update 2:

It looks like the omnibox related changes will be rolled out in the “coming weeks”, so you may not see the change.

Update 3:
