iPhone 5s goes on sale in the U.S. and Canada

Apple’s new iPhone 5s is now available on Apple’s Online Store in the U.S and Canada, after going on sale in the Asia-Pacific region and Europe earlier.

Apple had launched the next generation iPhone at the media event last week. It looks like the iPhone 5, but comes packed with new features such as the faster, and more powerful A7 chip, vastly improved Camera system and Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

The iPhone 5s comes in 3 different storage capacities 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, priced at $199, $299 and $399 respectively with a two-year contract, and $649, $749 and $849 respectively without a contract. iPhone 5s is available in Space Grey, silver and gold colors.

It has been widely speculated that the iPhone 5s supply is severely constrained, which was the reason it was not available for pre-order. The extended shipping dates seems to indicate that it is indeed the case.

You can also go to Apple retail stores, their carrier’s retail stores or Apple Authorized Resellers at 8:00 am local time to get iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c at launch. However, based on the availability on Apple’s Online Store, it looks like you will have to go in very early to get one.

Are you planning to order it online or will you be going to the retail store to get it today? If you’re ordering it online, let us know if you have managed to successfully place an order for your iPhone 5s.

Update 1:

It looks like the shipping estimates in the U.S are 1-3 business days.

Update 2:

The shipping estimates in Canada is 7-10 business days.

Update 3:

Shipping estimates for the 64GB AT&T iPhone 5s has slipped to 7-10 days. 16GB and 32GB AT&T iPhone 5s still has shipping estimates of 1-3 days.

Update 4:

T-Mobile iPhone 5s are not available currently on Apple’s Online store.

Update 5:

Gold iPhone 5s models are now showing shipping estimates as October. So the initial orders have been completely sold out. I thought people didn’t want the gold color.
