Walmart to sell iPhone 5c for $79, iPhone 5s for $189 at launch, Pre-orders start tomorrow

If you’re in the U.S. and planning to buy the new iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c, then you may want to buy it from Walmart, as it going to be the cheapest place yet again to buy them.

Walmart has just announced that it will be offering the new iPhones at a discount. The 16GB iPhone 5s will be available for $189 (regular price $199), and the 16GB iPhone 5c will be available for only $79 (regular price $99).

As 9to5Mac points out, the 20% discount on the iPhone 5c is quite unprecedented in iPhone’s launch history.

Please note that Walmart is offering the discounts only on the 16GB model with a two-year contract either with AT&T, Verizon or Sprint (no T-Mobile).

While we doubt Apple will match Walmart’s prices, it remains to be seen if other retailers like Best Buy will match them.

Walmart along with Apple and its carrier partners will begin accepting pre-orders for iPhone 5c from 3:00 am EST tomorrow morning, September 13. Apple hasn’t mentioned when iPhone 5s will be available for pre-order, but it looks like you will be able to order it or have to visit an Apple’s Retail Store or carrier’s retail store on September 20.
