It’s Official: Apple’s iPad event on October 22

As expected, Apple has just sent out invites for the eagerly awaited media event on October 22.

The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM Pacific or 1:00 PM Eastern.

As you can see above, the tag line on the invitation says “We still have a lot to cover“.

Apple is widely expected to unveil the next generation full-sized iPad and iPad mini at next week’s media event.

According to rumors, iPad 5 will sport an iPad mini-like design with narrower bezels in portrait mode, and could come with a variant of the A7 chip with 2GB RAM, 8-megapixel camera, and possibly the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. It is also expected to be lighter and thinner than the current generation iPad.

iPad mini 2 may come with Retina Display, and could include a A7 chip with 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel camera, and possibility the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. It could be slightly thicker than the current generation iPad mini to accommodate the Retina Display.

iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 are expected to be available in new colors such as gold, silver and space gray.

Apple could also unveil refreshed MacBook Pros and announce the launch date for Mac Pro, which was unveiled during the WWDC 2013 in June.

We can’t wait to see what Apple has in store for us. Are you planning to buy the iPad 5 or iPad mini 2? Let me know in the comments.
