Walmart slashes iPhone 5s price to $119, iPhone 5c to $29

If you’re planning to buy an iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c, and live in the U.S., then you should buy one from Walmart.

Walmart has slashed prices of both the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.

16GB iPhone 5s is now available for only $119 at Walmart, which works out to a discount of $80 (retail price is $199). Walmart started selling iPhone 5s for $189 when it was launched, and had dropped the prices to $127 during the holiday season, and was available for $145 before slashing it to $119.

Walmart has also slashed the price of 16GB iPhone 5c. It is now available for $29, down from $45, and works out to a discount of $70 (retail price is $99).

The offer is available for customers who sign a two-year contract with AT&T or Verizon. The offer is available only on 16GB models. The offer is only available in stores, and till stocks last, so visit Walmart’s website to find out the store closest to your location.

Does it mean Apple is planning to launch a new iPhone? It is highly unlikely. We expect Apple to stick to the annual release cycle, which means it will launch iPhone 6 in the September to October timeframe. As CNN Money points out, the sale probably indicates that the smartphone market is approaching saturation.
