Alleged iPhone 6 batteries spotted in a production tray

iPhone 6 batteries

French website Nowhereelse.fr has published a photo, which it is claims are of batteries for the iPhone 6 in a production tray. Though it is difficult to confirm the validity, the batteries seen in the photo look quite similar to iPhone batteries.

Nowhereelse.fr also points out that the metallic parts appear to be integrated along the side in case of the iPhone 6 batteries. The batteries appear to be a little narrower but longer than the iPhone 5s batteries, which could indicate that the iPhone 6 could sport a new form factor.

Last month, a report from Taiwanese sources claimed that Apple plans to automate battery production of the iPhones in order to focus on other essential components needed by the smartphone.

Apple is widely speculated to launch iPhone 6 with larger 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays to compete with Android-based smartphones that usually come with larger screens.

The next generation iPhone is also expected to sport an ultra-thin design with rounded edges. It may come with Apple’s new A8 processor with 1GB RAM, Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and an improved 8-megapixel camera with optical image stabalization (OIS). The iPhone 6 is expected to run iOS 8, which may feature a new Healthbook app, improved Maps, inter-app communication capabilities and more.

Yesterday, a report from Jefferies analyst Peter Misek claimed that Apple was negotiating with carriers to increase the price of the iPhone 6 by $100.

It remains to be seen if iPhone 6 will offer significantly improved battery life. Let’s hope it does, as battery life seems to be a common gripe people seem to have with the iPhone.
