Apple recently introduced an iMac that’s meant to work as a gateway desktop into the Mac ecosystem, with an enticing price tag and reasonable specs. Best Buy’s offering a limited price drop for the machine, and if you’ve got an active educational email account, you could pick up the entry-level computer for quite the discount.
The entry-level iMac, which features 8GB of soldered memory, at least 500GB of built-in storage, and a price tag that’s $200 lower than the previously cheapest iMac model, could be yours for just over $800 if you’ve got an active educational email (.edu) address. You’ll have to act fast to take advantage of a short-term price drop from Best Buy, though, which reportedly comes to an end June 27.
Anyone can pick up the entry-level iMac for $979.99 right now from Best Buy, which is $120.00 cheaper than the launch price. With the College Student Deal that Best Buy is currently offering, which gave the iPad mini with Retina display an impressive price tag as well, that means you could drop the price another $150. While the specifications may not be the best, for $829.99 it’s certainly a pretty great deal.
The College Student Deal is coming to an end July 12. Are you planning on taking advantage of the stacked deals?[via MacRumors]
