The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are now available in Australia, and the event was chronicled by the Sydney Morning Herald. Everywhere else, though, lines are starting to fill out.
In Australia, just as in many other locations all over the globe, long lines preceded the launch of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. In front of Apple stores, separate queues were set up for pre-orders and those who had set up their place in lines to get devices that weren’t reserved ahead of time.
As one can imagine, a photograph was taken of the first customer that purchased an iPhone 6 in Australia, which you can see at the top of the post. As Apple employees look on, and clap and celebrate, the first iPhone 6 made its way out of the retail store. According to a report from MacRumors, many Apple stores only received “one iPhone 6 Plus unit.” That would coincide with earlier reports that the device is limited in stock.

Of course, in other parts of the world lines have already been forming and are certainly starting to see more people fill the ranks. In New York City, at the 14th Street location, the line is quickly extending as people try to get their hands on the new devices.

Most Apple retail stores will be opening up at 8:00 AM local time, and if you plan on lining up, getting there as early as possible is clearly the best option.
