Apple officially announces new Mac mini, features 4th Gen Intel Core processor, two Thunderbolt ports and more

Apple has officially introduced the newest Mac mini to the family, with plenty of spec boosts under the hood, and new pricing for those who might want to pick it up.

Apple has announced the new Mac mini, and with it new specs, a new price tag, and a shipping date that should make plenty of people happy. First, the new specs: the Mac mini features a lineup of 4th-Gen Intel Core processors to choose from, with Intel Iris and HD Graphics 5000, and with PCIe-based flash storage.

The new Mac mini also features 802.11ac Wi-Fi, a total of two Thunderbolt ports and Apple has christened it as the “world’s most energy efficient desktop.”

As far as pricing goes, the new Mac mini will start at $499. It will begin shipping today, just like Apple’s new iMac with Retina 5K display.
