Ryan Petrich has just updated FlipControlCenter for iOS 8. FlipControlCenter, a popular jailbreak tweak, adds more settings toggles and features to the top row of Control Center, and also allows you to rearrange the position of the toggles.
To recap,FlipControlCenter offers the following features:
- It gives you quick access to the following new toggles and quick launch options in addition to default ones such as Settings (Quick access to the Settings app), Respring, Auto Lock, VPN, Vibration, Hotspot, Location Services, Flashlight, 3G, Ringer and lots more.
- You can rearrange the position of these toggles and quick launch options using the tap, hold and drag gesture. You can also disable a toggle by dragging it under the disabled section.
- You also have an option to suppress toggles and quick launch option when you access Control Center from the lock screen via Settings app (Settings > FlipControlCenter > Suppressed from Lock Screen).
- It also allows you to configure how many toggles and quick launch options you want to access per page in Control Center in both portrait and landscape mode. So you can increase it to 6 or decrease it to just 2 switches per page or make it unpaged, instead of 5 toggles.
Here’s a video walkthrough of FlipControlCenter:
So if you’re disappointed that Apple did not introduce any improvements to the Control Center other than different transparency and hue, then check out FlipControlCenter.
Petrich has mentioned that the update adds basic support for iOS 8 and iOS 8.1, so don’t expect it to work flawlessly just yet. You should avoid using the vibration and Hotspot toggles as they end up putting your device in safe mode. The tweak is also yet to be updated for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
You can install the FlipControlCenter 1.0.1~beta3 for free by adding Ryan Petrich’s repo (http://rpetri.ch/repo/) to Cydia.
Let me know how it goes in the comments.
