As the month of November continues, people are getting ready to hand over plenty of gifts to other people, or to themselves, and that means buying everything on the list.
For anyone looking to get their living room filled with a brand new iMac with Retina 5K display, buying it online may have just become something to reconsider as the ship date continues to slip into the weeks, rather than days. After Apple initially introduced the 5K display-equipped 27-inch iMac, and subsequently put it up for sale on the same day, the ship dates have creeped backwards ever since.
Now, leading into the weeks before of Black Friday, and further into the holiday shopping period, Apple has updated its online store to show that the iMac with Retina 5K display will now ship between two to three weeks from the date of purchase. As it stands, either the 21.5- or 27-inch regular iMacs are in the same boat.
It would appear that stock of the 27-inch Retina 5K iMac inside physical Apple Retail stores is still available, but there’s no telling how long that will last heading into the shopping season. Do you plan on picking up a new Retina iMac, if you haven’t already?[via 9to5Mac; Apple]
