AirDrop is one of the useful features that iOS offers, but it is bound to certain limitations because of the way iOS restricts access to filesystem. AirDrop 3 is a brand new jailbreak tweak similar to its predecessor that allows users to get rid of those restrictions and enjoy sharing files with other iOS devices.
AnyDrop takes the AirDrop feature to a whole new level by allowing users to share any type of files with each other including songs from the Music app. It also works with a non-jailbroken iOS device which is one of the selling points of the tweak.
Compared to its predecessor, AnyDrop 3 now allows you to directly share certain types of files when you’re inside a supported app such as the Music app without requiring you to do it from the tweak’s standalone app.
Once you install it, a new standalone app will appear on your Home screen. After launching the app, the iOS filesystem will be displayed where you can navigate through the files and folders and share contents via AirDrop.
To send a music, simply launch the Music app and long hold on a song. The sharing interface opens where you can send the song to another device via AirDrop even if the other device doesn’t have AnyDrop 3 installed. The music extension lets you share only DRM free songs.
You can also download videos directly from the official YouTube app. When viewing a video, tap the more options button represented by three dots in the top right hand corner and you’ll notice the downwards arrow button that allows you to download videos. After tapping it, you’ll be taken to AnyDrop’s app where the progress of the video download will appear on the navigation bar.
AnyDrop is a solid way of bypassing the limitations of AirDrop to easily share any type of file with other devices. The tweak can be downloaded from Cydia’s BigBoss repository for $1.99 and supports both iOS 7 and iOS 8 devices.
