With the holiday season upon many homes, hanging lights indoors and out are becoming the norm. Lumenplay has a string of lights for those who want a bit more control over the hues they are showcasing.
As reported by 9to5Mac, the Lumenplay Christmas lights have begun appearing inside Apple Stores, apparently filling store shelves over the last couple of weeks. With the new app-enabled lights, which work over Bluetooth 4.0, owners can customize a variety of things, including the color of the lights, effects, and they include support for a music visualizer, too. The lights can be set to a timer, effectively removing the need to remember to turn them on.
The lights are controlled via a companion application, which is now available in the iOS App Store for free.
Within the Apple Retail stores, or through Apple’s Online Store, Lumenplay sells a Starter Kit for its app-enabled Christmas lights that starts at $79.95. Within the kit, owners will find the controller necessary to adjust the lights, and a 24-inch lead of lights. Additional 12-foot strands can be purchased if more lights are the requirement, which start at $59. These do not come with the controller hardware, though, so the Starter Kit is essential for getting the lights off the ground, so to speak.
Here’s a list of the features you can find with Lumenplay’s new app-controlled lights:
- 16 Million Color Selector
- Custom Color Palette
- Effect Enhancer
- Brightness + Speed + Direction Control
- Music Visualizer: Choose your own music and colors, and create a personalized light show
- Pin-Code Security
- On/Off Time Scheduler
