WhatsApp is yet to officially announce the launch of its VOIP calling service a.k.a WhatsApp Calls, but it has already been rolling out the feature in stages to Android users. iPhone users have not been so lucky with an update to the client last month only adding a call button for the upcoming feature, but not enabling it.
Thanks to a new jailbreak tweak from iMokhles though –WhatsAppCallEnabler — iPhone users can now enjoy WhatsApp calls on their jailbroken iPhone as well. The jailbreak tweak is available for download through iMokhles repo: apt.imokhles.com.
As reported by some users on Reddit, it looks like other parties will not be able to receive the call if they don’t already have the feature enabled. This means that you will only be able to call your friends who are using Android devices and already have WhatsApp Calling activated.
In addition to this jailbreak tweak, WhatsApp is also selectively activating its voice calling feature for users who are on the the latest beta of WhatsApp for iOS.
