WAQuickReply is a new Quick Reply tweak for WhatsApp

One of the features that many of us would like to be added to WhatsApp is the support for Quick Reply. If you have jailbroken your iOS 8 device, you no longer need to wait as a new jailbreak tweak called WAQuickReply brings this functionality to the app.

The tweak allows you to quickly reply to WhatsApp messages from anywhere using the notification banner or directly from the Lock screen. When a new WhatsApp notification arrives on the Lock screen, swiping it to the left allows you to reply back to the message without even launching the app.

You can also reply via the notification banner by simply pulling it down just like any other app that features Quick Reply and type in your message.

What’s interesting about the tweak is that it will work even if WhatsApp is not running in the background.

Once WAQuickReply is installed, the first thing you’ll have to do before getting started is to purchase the license. This can be done via the tweak’s preferences pane available in Settings. Once purchased, simply download the license via the pane and respring your device. You should then be able to quickly reply back to WhatsApp messages directly from notification banner or from the Lock screen without even launching the app. Messages will also not be marked as read if you use Quick Reply.

If you’re a frequent user of WhatsApp, I’ll definitely recommend that you give this tweak a try. It works perfectly without any issues and makes it easier to respond to WhatsApp messages from anywhere without launching the app.

WAQuickReply is available on Cydia’s BigBoss repo for download and the license will cost you $2.99. WAQuickReply is not the first tweak to bring the Quick Reply feature to WhatsApp, Nantius was the first tweak to bring the functionality to WhatsApp in iOS 8, but was quite buggy.

iOS 9 will officially bring the Quick Reply feature to Messaging apps like WhatsApp as Apple has introduced User Notifications Text Input in iOS 9 for developers.
