Alleged iPhone 6s Plus packaging leaks; to come with a smaller battery

The folks over at cnBeta have allegedly received a photo that shows off the packaging of the iPhone 6s Plus. The blurry photo shows a box that is similar to the previous retail packaging box used by Apple.

The unfolded box confirms that Apple will indeed be calling the successor of the iPhone 6 Plus as the iPhone 6s Plus. The box also shows off the new wallpaper that Apple will be including on the new iPhones.

Additionally, cnBeta claims that the new iPhones will be coming with a smaller battery capacity than its predecessor. While the iPhone 6s will come with a 1715mAh battery, down from the 1800mAh sealed battery found on the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6s Plus will come with a 2750mAh battery, down from the 2910mAh battery found on the iPhone 6 Plus.

This news lines up perfectly with previous rumors that have also claimed that the new iPhones will come with a smaller battery. It is unclear if the reduction in battery capacity will lead to any significant degradation in the battery life of the upcoming iPhones or not. It is possible that Apple is confident that the power efficiency improvements in the chipset, display, modem, and in other key components will lead the new iPhones to deliver as good battery life as their predecessors.
