Cydia developer teases upcoming jailbreak tweak that enables 3D Touch on older devices

In a surprising move earlier today, the Pangu team released their official tool to jailbreak iOS 9 – iOS 9.0.2 that is also compatible with the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. There are still a lot of jailbreak tweaks that are waiting to be updated for iOS 9 but soon enough, we should start seeing new tweaks that take advantage of the new functionality of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

In a tweet made earlier today, Cydia developer George, aka spookyninja, says that he has figured out how to get the 3D Touch menu popping up on older devices such as the iPhone 6 and has shared a couple of screenshots that shows the 3D Touch menu of the Mail and Camera apps.

This means that users on older devices will be able to invoke the 3D Touch menu on apps by using simple gestures. George has also acknowledged that he is working with other developers to get this tweak done and we should see it soon on Cydia in the near future.

Indeed, this was pretty quick considering that the iOS 9 jailbreak just got released recently but we saw this coming as it is one of the hallmark features of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus and many users have been waiting to get it on their older devices.

Stay tuned with us to find out when the tweak will land on Cydia. Are you excited to get the 3D Touch functionality on your older devices? Sound off in the comments section below with your opinions.
