SwipeSwitcher brings 3D Touch multitasking gesture to older iPhones

In the past couple of months, we have seen a handful of jailbreak tweaks that bring 3D Touch features to older iOS devices that don’t support it. SwipeSwitcher is another jailbreak tweak that brings 3D Touch multitasking gesture that’s available exclusively on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to older devices.

With the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, you can 3D Touch on the left edge of the screen to launch the App Switcher. SwipeSwitcher brings this shortcut to older iOS devices as well except that it provides a different method of invocation.

With the tweak installed, you can launch the App Switcher by swiping in from the left edge of the screen. Normally, this allows you to go back to the previous page of the app however SwipeSwitcher splits the screen portion into two halves allowing you to swipe in from the top left half of the screen to invoke the App Switcher and from the bottom left half to go back to the previous page of an app.

Once installed, SwipeSwitcher gets enabled by default and doesn’t require any additional configuration. Performing a swipe in gesture from the top left edge of the screen provides a quick access to the App Switcher.

SwipeSwitcher works perfectly as advertised and enhances your multitasking experience. If you’d like to give it a try, it is available as a free package on Cydia’s BigBoss repo. Let us know how it goes in the comments.
