Yet more iPad Air 3 cases have surfaced ahead of the tablet’s official unveiling, strengthening rumors that claim the device will pack four speakers and a Smart Connector. The device is shaping up to be a smaller iPad Pro, and could have very similar internals.
These cases images, which were published by Steve Hemmerstoffer, are very similar to those we’ve seen before. There are cutouts for four speakers — two on the top edge and two on the bottom edge of the devices — plus a camera with LED flash and volume controls.
There’s also space for a Smart Connector, which suggests Apple will release a smaller Smart Keyboard accessory for iPad Air 3 — similar to that it already offers for iPad Pro. The device is expected to maintain the 9.7-inch display we’re already familiar with.
According to recent rumors, the iPad Air 3 will also be similar to the iPad Pro internally, with an A9X processor, 4GB of RAM, and Apple Pencil compatibility. Apple is expected to announce the device on March 21 alongside the iPhone SE.
