A Twitter user with the handle @the_malignant has tweeted an image that is supposedly a tray filled with iPhone 7 camera modules. According to the user, the image was snapped inside Foxconn itself and as proof there is another image of a cafeteria table with utensils bearing the Foxconn logo. The tweet goes on to suggest that production has already started for the iPhone 7.

The tweet seems dubious in nature for a number of reasons. Firstly, the Twitter account has only been around since February 2016, which is not that long ago. Secondly, the image of the cafeteria, allegedly uploaded as proof of the fact that the tweet came from the ‘heart’ of Foxconn, shows utensils and cutlery that will not appear were you to Google for images of Foxconn’s cafeterias.
Adding to the dubious nature of the tweet is the good command of english of the Twitter user and the fact that the image was not on Weibo first, which is the traditionally preferred option for the Chinese market.
Casting all doubts aside, if the tweet is to be believed, it would mean that production of the iPhone 7 has begun and that there is a tray filled with camera modules ready to find their way into an iPhone 7. Current reports have indicated that Foxconn will manage the production and assembly of both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, while Pegatron will only assemble the iPhone 7.
From dual cameras for the iPhone 7 to a single camera design, and finally to a design with the camera allegedly larger than the iPhone 6s, there have been countless rumours about the iPhone 7 camera and its final design. Whatever design and module the Cupertino giant uses, one thing is for sure, the world’s attention is on the camera of the next Apple iPhone.
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are set to launch sometime in September this year, however, Apple has yet to fix a date for this event. The new iPhones are also expected to be thinner and faster with new Apple A10 processors, launching with a 32GB base variant, improved waterproofing and faster LTE and Wi-Fi connection. The 3GB RAM has been heavily rumoured to be exclusive for the 5.5 inch model.
According to you, will the iPhone 7 camera live up to the hype surrounding it or will it be a disappointment given there are too many expectations of it?[Via Twitter and Phone Arena]
