It’s expected that in early September Apple will unveil the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, which have seen plenty of leaks over the last several months pertaining to the design and features of both handsets.
All that to say what you already know: the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus aren’t official by any means, but that hasn’t stopped the popular accessory manufacturer, Spigen, from not only unveiling brand new cases for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but also putting them up for sale. Long before the new phones are even officially announced.
Spigen has 18 different cases for the iPhone 7 available, which are priced from $14.99 to $39.99 and many of them are offered in a variety of colors and styles. The company has 15 cases for the iPhone 7 Plus, though, priced similarly and with different styles and colors available for many.
Unfortunately there’s no extra information to be gleaned from the cases themselves. Meaning, there don’t appear to be any secrets revealed by these cases, as they seem to simply line up with previous rumors and reports regarding the upcoming device design. Though, the iPhone 7 Plus used in the clear cases doesn’t appear to feature a Smart Connector, and there are no cut-outs available in the other hard-shell cases, so apparently Spigen doesn’t think that’s a feature that will make it to the final design.
We can also see the antenna lines have been moved, but that’s not too big of a surprise.
Spigen is taking a pretty big leap here, but it’s not completely unheard of for a case manufacturer to jump on what feels like a safe bet ahead of a device’s launch. Of course, being first might come back to haunt Spigen in the end if Apple’s actual phones don’t line up with these cases.
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are expected to be modest upgrades from the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, with only minor design changes in store, and with the larger of the two devices boasting a dual-camera setup.[via AppleInsider; Spigen (iPhone 7), (iPhone 7 Plus)]
