Apple Seeds iOS 10.1 Beta 1 to Public Testers

iOS 10 Release Notes

Yesterday, Apple seeded the first beta for developers for iOS 10.1, and now public testers can get in on the fun.

Apple has officially seeded the first public beta for public testers. If you aren’t already a public tester and want to sign up, you can do so right here. The site will give users access to both the iOS beta tests, as well as the beta seeds for macOS Sierra as well. The new software is available as a download now, but as subsequent beta seeds are released, beta testers will be able to install them as an OTA update.

iOS 10.1 has plenty of tweaks behind-the-scenes for improvements and enhancements, but the biggest new addition is Portrait Mode for iPhone 7 Plus owners. Apple has brought the highly-anticipated Portrait Mode to the stock Camera app for iPhone 7 Plus owners. With Portrait Mode, users will be able to get a shallow depth-of-field shot, similar to what’s available on a DSLR. It will put the main image in focus, while the background will have a slight blur.
