If you still haven’t upgraded to iOS 10 because you’re worried it might make your iPhone slower, now is the time to find out once and for all what kind of impact Apple’s latest software has on performance. Check out the speed test videos below versus iOS 9.3.5.
iAppleBytes, the YouTube channel that’s becoming famous for its iOS speed tests, has compared the performance of iOS 10 vs. iOS 9.3.5 on iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6s to find out which is faster during boot up, loading apps, multitasking, and every day use.
One thing you’ll notice is that iOS 10 is noticeably slower than iOS 9.3.5 at booting up, but once it’s up and running, it’s generally as fast or faster than iOS 9.3.5 on all devices — even the aging iPhone 5, which is powered by Apple’s 4-year-old A6 processor.
However, iOS 10 really shines on more recent devices — as you’ll find out in the videos below.
Unless you have another reason not to update to iOS 10, then — like you really rely on a jailbreak — this is an update you will want to get your hands on. Not only will it not slow down your device, but it brings a whole host of amazing new features.
That includes redesigned Music and Apple News apps, major new features for Messages, a revamped lock screen interface, and lots more. Find out all about iOS 10 and all the changes and improvements it brings in our release roundup.[via YouTube]
