Last December, Twelve South, the popular Apple accessory manufacturer, released a brand new Rose Gold HiRise Deluxe Stand, to round out the available colors.
Now, Twelve South has just announced the launch of a brand new HiRise 2 stand for both the iPhone and iPad lineup, with a few key changes in place. While the stand offers an overall similar design to the original HiRise, there are some alterations. The new stand is a bit heavier than the pervious iteration, making it more stable on a desk or table, and it has been reduced in size by one third to save space on that desk.
The HiRise 2 comes in two colors: Black and Silver. The HiRise Deluxe, meanwhile, comes in Black, Silver, and White. Those who pick up the HiRise 2 will need to have their own Lightning cable handle to make sure the iPhone gets charged while placed on the dock.
The HiRise 2 Deluxe comes with MFi-certiifed Lightning and Micro-USB cables, so charging the iPhone while on the stand is possible, even while in a battery case.
Unfortunately, the new HiRise 2 doesn’t include a headphone jack anywhere in its design, so, charging and listening to music through wired headphones on something like the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus won’t be possible. (Phil Schiller has some ideas to alleviate that, though.)
The HiRise 2 and HiRise 2 Deluxe is available right now, priced at $39.99 and $59.99, respectively.[via Twelve South]
