When Apple debuted their truly wireless earphones, they did so with a tentatively scheduled launch window.
That launch window was penciled in for “late October,” but no specific date was confirmed. The company has already launched other wireless headphones, including the Powerbeats3, but the AirPods have been left hanging. Considering it’s just a few days before the end of the month, the question of whether or not Apple would launch the product remained at the fore.
TechCrunch received a response from Apple, however, and the reality means more waiting. According to the company, Apple doesn’t want to launch the AirPods before they’re ready, so they’re working on them a bit longer, which means the “late October” launch window won’t be reached:
“The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don’t believe in shipping a product before it’s ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers,” an Apple spokesperson said to TechCrunch.”
The AirPods, when they do go on sale, will be available for $159. Unfortunately, while Apple was forthcoming regarding the delayed launch, there isn’t a new launch window to pencil in just yet. One might expect to find them available sometime in November, but of course anything is possible.
