Apple’s said to be working on a few surprises for the iPad lineup, set to debut in early 2017, which could include a brand new size to choose from.
A new report from Macotakara, citing information gathered from an “informed” source, aims to shed some light on what Apple could be planning. The report states that Apple plans to launch a brand new 10.9-inch iPad Pro, which, would line up with previous rumors suggesting the same thing.
The new report also reiterates that Apple will be making some changes to the bezels present on the new iPad Pro. Specifically, if the report is true, Apple will be aiming to minimize the bezels present on the new iPad Pro in a significant way. So much so, in fact, that the new iPad Pro will measure in at 7.5mm thickness — in line with the iPad Air.
The report adds that the larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro could get a bit thicker than its current iteration, too, which would indicate Apple plans on reducing the bezels on that model as well.
The new report also notes that Apple will keep the top bezel with the new iPad Pro models, where the FaceTime camera is positioned, but that the bottom bezel may get removed, and that the Home button (that’s no longer a button in current iPhones) could be built into the display.
