Keeping up with the update plans, Instagram has made another announcement, this time focusing on the “holiday fun.” The latest focuses on Instagram’s Stories feature, with a variety of different ways to spice things up when sharing content with other Instagram users.
First up, sharing similarities with plenty of other social networks out there, new stickers to share with friends. Just tap on the smiley face while in a Story and you’ll be able to select a customizable sticker, which include location stickers and more. Users can resize them, and position them where they want to customize the experience.
“It’s easy to make stickers your own: move them around, make them bigger or smaller and choose from different styles to match your mood. Subtle stickers let your photo or video shine, whereas vibrant stickers bring an extra pop of color to your story. And you can add as many stickers as you want to any part of your story.”
The “holiday fun” comes in the form of a “special candy cane brush,” which is added to the drawing toolbox, and more holiday-focused stickers to share on a regular basis.
There is also a new “hands-free” option, which allows recording to start with just a single tap. Instagram says it removes the need to “tap and hold,” and will even let users quickly add text to a Story if they want.
And, just for iOS users (for now), Instagram will let you save your Stories over the last 24 hours to your Camera Roll, which will then be presented as a single video.
The newest version of Instagram is rolling out now.
