Today, Apple has released a supplemental security update for the previous version of its desktop operating system.
Apple released the supplemental security update for OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 today. It’s a lofty update, weighing in at 623.9MB, and it’s available through the Mac App Store on machines that are running the supported software. The update itself isn’t listed on Apple’s official page for security updates just yet, but it should be added soon.
As for the update itself, it’s meant to path an issue where Macs would become unresponsive sporadically. The supplemental software is designed to fix the kernel issue.
