Low Power Mode was introduced in iOS 9 as a way to reduce the battery consumption by toggling off various features of iOS such as background app refresh, mail fetch, automatic downloads, and some visual effects.
Enabling Low Power Mode takes a couple of steps such as going to Settings -> Battery and then toggling on this mode. There have been jailbreak tweaks that provide a faster way of turning on Low Power Mode but none is as hassle-free as a new tweak called QuickPowerMode.
This new tweak allows you to enable QuickPowerMode from anywhere in iOS with a single tap gesture. Whether you’re on the Home screen, within an app, or on the Lock screen, you can easily toggle on or off Low Power Mode with this tweak.
With QuickPowerMode installed, all you have to do to toggle Low Power Mode is to tap on the battery icon in the Status bar. It can’t become any easier than this. As soon as you tap on the battery icon, it turns to yellow to indicate that Low Power Mode has been enabled. To disable it, simply tap on the icon again and it will be turned off.
This method is much faster than if you were to enable Low Power Mode from Settings. It is also more convenient than tweaks that add a Low Power Mode toggle to Control Center.
Since the Status bar is visible in most parts of iOS, QuickPowerMode can be accessed from anywhere, except within full-screen games and apps. Due to its simplicity, the tweak doesn’t require any additional configuration so once you install it, you’re good to go.
If you’d like to have faster access to Low Power Mode then you should consider giving this tweak a try. It is available for free in Cydia’s BigBoss repo and supports iOS 10. Let us know what you think about it in the comments below.
