Apple has put into a place an important change to the repair coverage for the first-generation Apple Watch.
As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple has extended the repair coverage for the first-gen Apple Watch to three years, as far as it deals with expanded or swollen batteries. This means that customers have an extra two years to their coverage, over the standard one-year Limited Warranty that is available out of the box.
The issue has been identified for quite some time, apparently, and has seen plenty of attention on the Apple support forums (as well as other areas).
The first-generation Apple Watch was launched on April 24, 2015, so the device has officially passed its two year birthday.
