The latest update to WhatsApp has added the ability for Siri to read out latest messages for iPhones running is 10.3 or higher.
Running the latest version of WhatsApp (v2.17.2), iPhone users can simply ask Siri to read their latest WhatsApp messages. Saying anything on the lines of “Hey Siri read my last WhatsApp message” or “Hey Siri read my latest WhatsApp messages” will lead Siri to read out the name of the sender and the messages sent. Siri will then also ask you if you would like to respond to the message if you would like to.
The feature will only work on iPhones running iOS 10.3 or higher. Other changes included in this update include being able to select and forward multiple statuses at once, and the voice call button being replaced with a ‘+’ symbol which now shows options for voice and video calling. The UI of the Calls tab, Contact info, and Group info has also been updated with newer icons to make them look more visually appealing. The two-step verification interface has also been redesigned to make the set up process easier.
The camera now also remembers which sensor you used the last time around: front or back. Lastly, the update also adds support for the Persian language.
