The rumor mill and media industry have been calling the OLED iPhone with a bezel-less front as the iPhone 8, while the other two iPhones featuring a glass back have been dubbed as the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. While not their final name, it is widely presumed that due to the sheer amount of new features, the OLED iPhone is going to come with, it will be called the iPhone 8.
Many rumors, however, suggest that Apple will end up calling the OLED iPhone as the iPhone X or maybe the iPhone Pro. The latter name does make sense as the naming scheme will then be in line with Apple’s iPad lineup.
Then, there are the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. A direct successor to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus from last year, many people presume that they can be called the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus as well since they will be coming with a new design. Apple has so far reserved a number jump in the iPhone’s naming scheme for major design changes. While the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will come with a glass back and wireless charging, they will continue to feature the same front design. Thus, Apple naming them as the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus seems unlikely to me.
