Following the public launch of iOS 11, Apple turned to the next big update for the mobile operating system, quickly seeding the first developer beta of iOS 11.1.
Apple today seeded the second developer beta for iOS 11.1. This follows the public launch of iOS 11.0.1, a minor upgrade to the mobile operating system. As is par for the course with these types of seeds, registered developers can find the new software via Apple’s dedicated developers website. Once developers have the proper configuration profile on their device, they can also install the new software over-the-air.
As far as what is new in iOS 11.1, you can check to see the new features discovered in the previous beta right here. In addition to that, Apple has already confirmed that several different iOS 11 features would be available in a future update to the platform, so this first beta could be integrating them.
Those features include iCloud for Messages, Apple Pay Cash, which allows customers to quickly transfer money within iMessages, and Apple is also planning on rolling out new emoji characters in iOS 11 as well. Apple has also already confirmed that iOS 11.1 will welcome brand new emoji to the platform, which you can see right here.
At the time of publication, the second developer beta has not revealed anything new, but, if any discoveries are made, we will update this post accordingly, so stay tuned.
Apple also seeded a public beta of iOS 11.1 soon after the developer seed, so it is likely that the company will continue with those releases on a semi-regular basis, allowing public beta testers to keep up with the developer seeds.
How are you liking iOS 11 so far?
