Apple has used its refurbished devices to get customers in “new to them” gadgets while also saving them some money off the retail price, too.
So if you have been waiting to get your hands on an Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE, you can finally stop. Apple has officially added the cellular-enabled smartwatch to its stable of offered refurbished devices. Unlike past refurbished launches, though, there is only one option to choose from at the time of publication: the 42mm Apple Watch.
This is the Space Black option, which includes a Stainless Steel case. With a 15 percent discount in place, the LTE smartwatch is priced at $549.00 — a savings of $100.00. Here are the major bullet points for this particular wearable:
- S3 dual-core processor and W2 Apple wireless chip
- Built-in GPS and GLONASS
- Barometric altimeter
- Water resistant to 50 meters 1
- 2x brighter second-generation OLED Retina display with Force Touch (1000 nits)
- Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz)
- Bluetooth 4.2
- Siri speaks
- Capacity 16GB
- Composite back
With this model going up for sale, it is likely that Apple will keep adding stock of refurbished units to the online storefront, so if you don’t want to pick up a 42mm variant and prefer the 38mm option, then keep an eye on the website for a later refresh.
“We test and certify all Apple refurbished products and include a 1-year warranty.
All refurbished Watch models include a Magnetic Charging Cable and a new white box.
Supply is limited and availability is guaranteed once we receive your full payment.”
Apple has been selling refurbished units of the standard Apple Watch Series 3, which boasts GPS but not LTE, since February of this year. The company also recently added the iMac Pro to the online store in a refurbished option just this week.
Are you planning on picking up an LTE-enabled Apple Watch Series 3 with the refurbished discount?
It took some time, but having the cellular-enabled Apple Watch Series 3 as a refurbished model is better late than never. It’s likely that the 38mm option will be priced around $359 whenever it gets added to the list, which is a nice price for the wearable. Of course, there are rumors that Apple is working on a redesigned Apple Watch Series 4, which we could see revealed later this year, so prices and availability for newer, non-refurbished models might get announced at the same time.[via Apple]
