Apple Signs Multi-Year Content Partnership with Oprah Winfrey

Apple has announced a multi-year deal with Oprah Winfrey, with Apple releasing projects that it works upon with Winfrey as a part of its original content lineup.

The partnership will not have any effect on Winfrey’s contract with OWN, her own television network channel. Apple or Winfrey did not disclose details about the partnership.

Apple today announced a unique, multi-year content partnership with Oprah Winfrey, the esteemed producer, actress, talk show host, philanthropist and CEO of OWN. Together, Winfrey and Apple will create original programs that embrace her incomparable ability to connect with audiences around the world.
Apple has been greatly stepping up its efforts of producing original content for Apple Music, and this deal with Winfrey just shows how serious the company is about this. By releasing original content on Apple Music, the Cupertino company is hoping to gain an edge over the likes of Spotify and other streaming services who have primarily limited their efforts to music streaming. In this, this would help the company attract new users to its streaming platform.
