Apart from a trio of new iPhones, Apple is also expected to unveil the Apple Watch Series 4 and its 2018 iPad Pro lineup at its September event. The Bloomberg report from earlier today provides information about these two devices from Apple as well.

The report mentions the Apple Watch Series 4 will feature the same design as the existing Apple Watch models. However, Apple will switch to a new display technology that will extend to almost the edges of the wearable.

Apart from the inclusion of a bigger display and faster internals, Apple is not expected to make any other changes with the Apple Watch Series 4. By retaining the same design, Apple will ensure the Apple Watch Series 4 will be compatible with existing Apple Watch straps as well.

Apple is going to take the same approach with its 2018 iPad Pro lineup. It will be reducing the bezels on the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro by dropping the Touch ID/home button and replace it with Face ID instead. The smaller iPad will also see its screen size being bumped to 11-inches from the current size of 10.5-inches. The entire 2018 iPad Pro lineup will also switch to a gesture-based navigation approach similar to the iPhone X.

Apple will not be unveiling a refresh of its iPad mini which was last refreshed in 2015. With the iPhone X Plus featuring a 6.5-inch OLED display and demands for smaller tablets stagnating, it does make little sense for Apple to devote resources for the tablet.
