Apple Store Goes Down Ahead of New iPads, AirPods 2 Release [Updated]

Apple’s online store has gone ahead which likely hints at the company putting new iPads, AirPods, and AirPower for sale later today.

Apple is holding a ‘Show Time’ media event on March 25 but that event is going to be solely focused on Apple’s services efforts which include a TV streaming platform and an Apple News Magazines subscription service. Thus, it makes sense for the company to go ahead and put these products on sale this week itself.

All the hardware releases from Apple today are going to be relatively modest in nature so it makes sense for Apple to release them directly without any announcements. The potential releases from Apple include an iPad mini 5 with faster internals, 7th gen iPad, AirPods 2 with always-on ‘Hey Siri’ support, and more.

It remains to be seen if Apple will put AirPower for sale as well. The wireless charger was originally unveiled alongside the iPhone X but due to engineering issues, Apple never got around to releasing it.

Whatever products Apple unveils today, they will likely go up for pre-order today and hit the retail stores later this week.

Update: The store is back up and Apple has announced a new 10.5-inch iPad Air and iPad mini 5. There was no word from the company about AirPower and AirPods 2 in its announcement.
