DJI is a household name when it comes to drones. However, the company also offers smartphone gimbals under the Osmo series. DJI Osmo Mobile 3 is the third iteration handheld smartphone stabilizer. Needless to say, it comes equipped with a slew of new features and folds up into a smaller package.
The Osmo Mobile 3 is priced at $119 while the combo pack with tripod and carrying case is priced at $139. DJI claims that the 3-axis gimbal reduces shaky footage and offers a stabilized imaging experience on a smartphone. The jerks and shudders are eliminated.
The Osmo Mobile 3 is light and weighs at 405g. Furthermore, the foldable design lets you tuck away the gimble in the smallest of places. As far as ergonomics are concerned, the gimbal offers a grip that is designed to let you hold the gimbal comfortably for hours together. Meanwhile, the story mode automatically converts multiple footages into a video by adding movement, music, and other options. Once edited you can share the video across social media and other video platforms.
A physical trigger button will allow you to switch between selfie and rear camera in seconds. The ActiveTract 3.0 is backed by deep learning and is designed to track the subject. Moreover, the buttons offer all the functions whilst you keep operating the gimbal with single-hand. Other intuitive features include the M button which lets you shoot in any situation/angle within seconds. Quick Roll lets you transition fro portrait mode to landscape mode with a click of a button.
The latest gimbal from DJI also packs a sports mode that allows you to track fast-moving subjects and capture the footage seamlessly. Lastly, the Osmo Mobile 3 offers 15-hours of battery life and charges via USB-C.[via DJI]
