The final design mockup of Apple’s upcoming iPad Pro lineup has leaked online. The photo shows a familiar-looking iPad shell except that it houses the same triple-camera setup as on the iPhone 11 Pro lineup.
From the design mockup, the triple-camera system juts out quite a bit from the back of the iPad Pro. And it looks a bit out of place as well. On the iPhone 11 Pro, due to the use of a single glass back, the camera module does not look as bad.
The source of this leak is very reputable so there’s very little reason to doubt that it is fake. The triple-camera system is likely going to be similar to the iPhone 11 Pro with some minor changes.
Since the iPad Pro lineup got a massive upgrade last year, Apple is not expected to make any drastic changes to the lineup this year. We are likely going to get usual yearly upgrades like improved performance and display, though just like the Apple Watch Series 5, Apple may have one surprising feature up its sleeve.
So far, leaks surrounding the 2019 iPad Pro have been relatively less, though we have heard rumors of the lineup gaining a triple-camera system. Apple is likely to announce this year’s iPad Pro refresh at a media event in October where it is also expected to announce the 16-inch MacBook Pro with slim bezels.
Since the iPad Pro is meant for pro users, I doubt many of them are going to find the triple-camera system on the 2019 iPad Pro a useful addition. What are your thoughts on this? Apple could use the triple-camera system for AR purposes but this remains to be seen.[Via Sonny Dickson]
